I love the wind. It is enlivening, Cleaning the aura and atmosphere, and wilding surroundings with life force energy.

Yet windy wilding can be disturbing, and destabilising, when you have lost your footing.

Today I watched a bird exhausting itself. Flying into the windy turbulence in it’s surroundings. Not making any headway. And landing on the waters beneath it before, without hesitation, starting again. Persisting. It was on a desired mission, pushing against the wind, insistently. In danger of drowning, with it’s tenacity.

And I wondered, what if it stayed and rested on the water for longer, floating along with the tide, in a pleasurable wander. Sure, it might lose some ground temporarily. Yet, it would surely be better equipped to begin again with renewed energy, for it’s next powerful advancing.

If you have been noticing people reacting more ardently to their inner weather, in pushing their own agenda. Not pausing and resting to consider the impact of their own perspective, despite the rupture and resistance they are confronting and experiencing. Or being swept up in the circumstances surrounding them, instead of investing in their sturdiness. Then consider being the calm observer, peaceful embracer, or supportive regulator. Or assisting, with their permission, to help them stabilise their position.

And if you feel like you are losing your footing, reacting to inner and/or outer turbulent weather, and becoming unsteady, remove yourself temporarily and float or hover. Recalibrate. Shift your relative positioning. For a better perspective of what may be happening and what you may be creating, enabling, or experiencing. Get some assistance if you are too close to it.

Lift up. Take a birds eye view at situations from a perspective higher than you are when you are in it. And consider how you contribute to any uneasy winds, or whether you can, in managing yourself, placate the weather. Creating breezy wins for yourself and others. Allowing for diverse perspectives. Bringing others cooperatively along. Building a safe space where you and others can belong.

It’s getting rough out in the winds and seas of the world, in organisations, and wherever people gather for deliberations. These are the times at present. Witnessing reactions, and calibrations, that can be wilding your inner equilibrium. Or risking you getting swept into a current that is really irrelevant.

When you need it, take a little pause, for some finer weather. Rest, and consider. So that your staying power has a better chance of extending much better. With a breeze much gentler.
