It’s wonderful windy Sydney again. An annual blustery and blowy end of August beckoning in what September and Spring will bring.
I love the wildness of the wind. Listening to it is one of the most vital of expressions. It howls and whispers at the same time. It has a life force that brings momentous energy swirling. Trees become animated in dancing reverie. Leaves dance their wild Watusi. Clouds speed and re-create at great velocity. It’s a force of Nature that tells me to be ready. There is change and activity in the air. Mother Nature is ruffling her feathers preparing for the new. Clearing out the cobwebs, and creating new thoroughfares. Certainly, in some traditions, it signifies that invisible forces are energetically at play.
As many of you know I work in the field of change. And dealing with changes, whether they are self-directed or involuntary, can sometimes be tricky. Often there is no map to guide your particular way. Much of it involves faith as well as action toward a new vision of how life can look, especially one that keeps satisfying you. And while there are others who have gone before you, who lend wisdom, to the process from their experience, your path is uniquely yours to take. And requires self-awareness that, for you, is ideally placed.
Listening to your core regularly, and in the moment, is a vital clue to whether actions feel right. Calming your body and mind. And working on the process of staying kind, as change changes, and so do you.
Because it is easy to get caught in the bluster, and hyper- activity that may be surrounding you. Staying sound, in your actions, and grounded in your core intentions, is what can save you. Minimising distraction and taking self-care actions. Which takes time, investment, and attention.
And if it’s windy, wherever you are, either literally, or metaphorically, it is valuable, to stay grounded, in the now.
Which is why I am a proponent of stillness, and meditation. It gives you a chance to stop, check in, and turn to your inner guidance as things are changing. It keeps your radar fine tuned. In the moment. So you can listen to what’s right for you and the true, whole, you. And it helps you to grow, and evolve, more optimally, while you keep deciding how you and your life and/or organisation and team will be transforming.
Tuning into inner guidance keeps you moving forward with right actions toward your broader view. It helps you to avoid getting caught in a whirlwind, of overthinking, emotionally reacting, and overextending. You can better stay on track with your own compass of changing, and, where necessary, course correcting.
And that’s what I encourage my clients to do. To stay in grounded commitment to their path of goal alignment. Moving through any tensions gently, and toward opportunities excitedly. And despite the swirl of change, like the wind around them, a more careful, graceful course, can be maintained, through blustery days.
Perhaps it’s time to freshen your inner guidance and mandala of wholeness awareness, as the winds of change amp up their next steps. Defining what in your life is ideal to cultivate in the Springtime months that are ahead:
- Tune into yourself, and what you need for you, to thrive in your Springtime view
- Consult with your family, and where it may need attending, in a new season of expanding
- Review your work, and how it is evolving, with the dynamic shifts in culture, social sciences, and technology
- And cast an eye over your surroundings, and how it is inspiring, a sense of bounty and beauty, with social serenity.
Take a stocktake. Review. Tune In. Fine tune. So that you, and your life, can continue to bloom.
And may September blow her exhilarating blessings, upon you.
